MBRK designs science-based performance and recovery experiences for executives, founders and high performers who want to sustain their edge over the long term. We focus on what the evidence supports: nervous system regulation, structured recovery, deliberate movement, and whole-food nutrition.
MBRK was founded by Joscha Hofferbert and is based in Berlin, Germany.
Dates: 7–11 October 2026 (four nights, three full days)
Location: Manshausen Island Resort, Northern Norway
Group size: Maximum 15 participants
Language: English
Format: Fully residential, all meals, sessions and on-site transfers included
Nearest airports: Stokmarknes (SKN) or Bodø (BOO), connected via Oslo
This experience is for people who want to engage actively with their performance, recovery, and capacity to operate under pressure.
Participants typically include executives, founders, creators, athletes, and professionals who take their performance seriously and want practical tools they can apply long after the experience ends.
The ability to regulate the nervous system underpins cardiovascular health, immune function and cognitive resilience. We use structured breathwork, deliberate cold and heat exposure, and sleep architecture work to produce measurable improvements in stress tolerance, sleep quality and mental clarity.
A trusted peer group is one of the most underestimated drivers of sustained performance and long-term resilience. The cohort is intentionally small to build real connection: facilitated peer circles, shared outdoor challenges, communal meals, and unhurried evening conversation.
Movement is not just about physical capacity. It builds the cognitive resilience and durability that sustained high performance demands. Functional strength and mobility sessions, guided trail hikes and outdoor circuits, movement quality coaching, and personalised load tracking.
Food shapes daily cognitive performance, energy stability and recovery quality. All meals are designed and chef-prepared on-site across four days. Includes a metabolic principles workshop, communal dining, and practical nutrition frameworks for daily life.
All activities are supervised, scalable, and non-technical. Participation is voluntary throughout — you may opt out of any activity at any time without explanation or penalty.
The goal is not inspiration. It is implementation. Participants leave with:
Founder and managing director of MBRK. Background in psychology, neuroscience and digital health innovation. Based in Berlin. Designs the strategy, structure and operations behind MBRK and is building up personal expertise in performance physiology and facilitation alongside Lars. LinkedIn
Founder of Vidde.ai. Organisational psychologist specialising in human performance, neurophysiological regulation and leadership under pressure. Worked with the Norwegian Police, the Norwegian Armed Forces and management teams across Norway's largest corporations. Expedition guide for Ousland Explorers in Svalbard, Greenland and Hardangervidda. Advanced Oxygen Advantage instructor and certified practitioner of the School of Breath Science.
One of the most accomplished polar explorers of his generation. Best known for record-breaking solo expeditions to the South Pole and his ongoing mission to cross the world's 20 largest ice caps. Brings field-tested expertise in extreme physical and mental resilience, deliberate cold exposure, and sustained performance under absolute pressure.
Founder of O2Max, a clinical testing system used by performance centres and longevity clinics worldwide. Built on real breath analysis and 12 clinical biomarkers. Over a decade of experience translating complex metabolic and respiratory data into precise, actionable protocols.
Manshausen is a remote island lodge surrounded by open ocean and mountain ridges, far above the Arctic Circle. There is no city noise, no continuous decision-load, and no agenda except the one participants arrive with. Sauna and cold water are a few steps from each cabin. Mountain trails for morning movement. Wide horizons and Arctic light that shifts circadian biology more directly than any blackout blind can.
Connectivity is intentionally limited. Most participants find the first day is the hardest, and the rest is the point. If managing a genuine emergency remotely is essential, basic connectivity may be possible.
Custom pricing communicated on application. The cohort is intentionally limited to 15 participants to keep coaching ratios low and the peer group worth joining.
Location. Manshausen is one of the most striking and remote island lodges in northern Norway. Accommodation, meals, and on-site transfers for a setting of this calibre carry a meaningful cost. This is not a conference hotel.
Group size. A maximum of 15 participants means high-quality facilitation, genuine personal attention, and a peer group small enough to create real trust.
Expertise. The facilitators and expert speakers are active practitioners in their fields — not generic wellness coaches.
All-inclusive. Accommodation, all meals, all activities, workshops, sauna, cold exposure, and airport transfer are covered. There are no hidden extras on site.
Continues after you leave. Participants receive access to exclusive content and resources after the experience to support integration and help habits stick.
Not included: flights and travel to and from Norway, personal travel insurance.
Safety is a core design principle. We operate with documented risk assessments, daily safety briefings, clear decision authority on site, and at least one qualified first aider present at all times. Emergency and evacuation procedures are coordinated with the venue.
The organiser carries appropriate insurance coverage for the activities provided. Participants are required to hold their own personal travel and medical insurance, and we strongly recommend trip cancellation insurance covering trip cancellation and interruption, emergency medical expenses and evacuation, travel delays, and baggage. Many policies only cover pre-existing medical conditions if purchased within 14 days of first payment.
A structured, small-group performance and recovery immersion designed to help participants build resilience, improve recovery, and acquire practical knowledge they can apply in daily life. It combines movement, breathwork, cold and heat exposure, education, and time in nature. It is not a retreat, holiday, or therapy programme.
No. This is a structured performance and recovery experience focused on learning, application, and sustainable change — not relaxation, escapism, or therapy.
No. The experience is educational and experiential, not medical or therapeutic. No diagnosis, treatment, or personalised medical advice is provided. Participants are responsible for consulting healthcare professionals as appropriate.

Most programmes overload you with information, hand you a supplement stack, and send you home. The habits do not last because the underlying physiology was never explained and the environment never changed. Here, every practice is taught in context. You understand the mechanism, not just the method. The setting also matters: four days of genuine immersion creates space for real recalibration. The post-experience content and peer network exist specifically to support integration once you return.
That tension is exactly why this experience exists. High performers who are over-extended rarely create space to address the systems — sleep, stress, recovery, nervous system regulation — that determine whether they can sustain their performance. Four days invested here typically changes what is possible in the next four years.
Manshausen is remote by design. Connectivity is limited. We encourage you to treat that as part of the experience. The absence of constant digital input is one of the most reliable ways to reset the nervous system. Most participants find the first day is the hardest, and the rest is the point.
No. Sessions are designed to be accessible and adaptable to different fitness levels. You should be comfortable walking on uneven terrain and engaging in light to moderate physical activity outdoors. All sessions are scalable and coached. You participate at your level.
No. Participation is always voluntary. You may opt out of any activity at any time without explanation or penalty.
No. Cold and heat exposure are optional tools to explore stress regulation and recovery. Sessions are time-limited and supervised. You can opt out at any time.
It depends on the condition. The experience is physically active and takes place in a remote outdoor environment with limited medical infrastructure nearby. If you have a relevant health condition, injury, or are taking medication that affects physical activity, we recommend speaking with your doctor before booking and contacting us to discuss whether the programme is appropriate for you.
Participants receive access to exclusive post-experience content including session recordings, expert resources, and practical reference material to support integration. You also remain connected to the peer cohort — for many participants, this ongoing network is one of the most valuable long-term outcomes.
We address it in three ways: first, by teaching the underlying physiology rather than prescribing routines, so you understand what you are doing and why; second, through the post-experience content library, which gives you practical reference material and structured guidance for ongoing application; and third, through the peer network, which provides accountability and shared experience beyond the event itself.
The nearest airport is Stokmarknes (SKN) or Bodø (BOO) in northern Norway, with connections via Oslo. Airport transfer to and from the lodge is included. Detailed travel instructions are provided in the pre-arrival information pack.
